Green District
Landscape Architecture
A sustainable residential development in Brussels comprising 165 apartments arranged around extensive communal gardens. Buildings are organized to maximize sunlight penetration to ground-level landscapes.
Green roofs, rainwater harvesting, and geothermal heating systems reduce environmental impact. Brick construction provides thermal mass. Car parking is underground, keeping the surface level entirely pedestrian.

The development achieves BREEAM Outstanding certification, one of few residential projects in Belgium to do so. Energy consumption is 60% lower than building regulations require. Residents report significantly reduced utility costs compared to their previous homes.
Communal gardens are maintained through a resident cooperative. The landscapes support substantial biodiversity, with ecological surveys documenting species increases since construction. Children use the gardens daily, creating informal play networks that build community.
